A cabin air filter not only improves air quality but also ensures your safety. Primarily, it filters pollutants such as soot, nitrogen, dust and pollen from the ambient air and releases the cleaned air into the vehicle interior via the ventilation system. The clean air reduces signs of fatigue, concentration weakness and sneezing. This in turn ensures greater safety. According to AvD, anyone who sneezes at a speed of 50 meters, for example, will drive around 13 meters blind.
In order to guarantee the best possible air quality in the vehicle, the cabin air filter is generally changed at every inspection date. There are various types of filters, which we will introduce to you in more detail below. We will also discuss the advantages of these filters there.
What are the differences in cabin air filters? The cabin air filter has been further developed over time and is therefore more and more effective. Meanwhile, some filters can even help allergy sufferers. There are many different terms that are used in connection with a cabin air filter and are often mistakenly used as synonyms. These include:
In principle, there are two different modes of operation for cabin air filters: On the one hand, the particulate filter and on the other the activated carbon filter, also often referred to as microfilter. The filter paper of a particulate filter absorbs impurities from the road air and frees them from:
An activated carbon filter is a microfilter and contains an additional activated carbon layer that filters out odours from the ambient air in addition to road pollution and pollen.
In principle, all cabin air filters are also pollen filters and can therefore be used synonymously. The further development of the pollen filter is the cabin air filter for allergy sufferers. It also absorbs allergens, mould and fine dust and thus ensures clean air in the passenger compartment.
Particulate filters and activated carbon filters not only improve the air in your vehicle, they also maintain its value. Because the retention of dirt particles protects the entire interior. No dirt deposits are created on the headliner and upholstery.
An additional advantage of a regularly replaced cabin air filter is that the improved air permeability saves fuel. The engine uses less fuel when the air flow of the heater or air conditioner increases. The engine therefore needs less fuel for cooling and heating and CO2 emissions are also reduced.
Compartment filters must fulfil their task even in extreme weather conditions, so that all vehicle occupants can be offered the most comfortable stay possible in the car. Therefore it is important to pay attention to good quality. The original filters of the vehicle manufacturers have the highest quality. For this reason we offer you in our shop a wide range of original interior filters for all common vehicles. With input of your vehicle or the KBA number the suitable filters are indicated to you directly.
