Genuine Audi engine oils are synthetic high-performance engine oils, developed for the specific requirements of Audi vehicles. They are particularly powerful and at the same time have been very carefully tested for their environmental compatibility. Due to their reliability and extensive protection, Audi engine oils are highly valued by our customers.
What is special about Audi engine oils?
Which Audi oil approvals are available?
What to consider when buying genuine Audi engine oil?
Audi engine oils provide reliable protection against wear and corrosion, as well as improved cooling performance, which helps to extend the life of your engine. This is made possible by the use of high-quality additives, which make Audi engine oils thereby more powerful and efficient. Original Audi engine oils have other very interesting properties that distinguish them from other oils.
For example, Audi engine oils have an optimized viscosity composition with an increased viscosity index number (IV) so that they remain more fluid at lower temperatures and do not become thicker at higher temperatures. As a result, the engine oils remain stable over the entire operating range of the vehicle, thus protecting the engine from overheating and water accumulation in the oil sump. Thanks to the sophisticated manufacturing process, Audi engine oils can be used at temperatures ranging from -30 °C to +100 °C. This makes the engine more efficient and consumes less fuel.
In addition, Audi engine oils are very tolerant of dirt and moisture. They remain fault-free and perform well even when they come into contact with dirt or water. Therefore, genuine Audi engine oils can also be used in areas of the engine that are not normally allowed to overheat.
The original Audi engine oil is offered in different versions. It differs primarily in the Audi oil approvals. These correspond to the VW approvals, as the specifications are set by the parent company Volkswagen.
The following Audi oil approvals are currently valid:
The information on Audi oil approvals can generally be found in your vehicle's service booklet. Audi deliberately only uses longlife oils, even though vehicles with a longlife service benefit from them the most. On vehicles with a Longlife service, oil changes are dynamically adjusted to the load on the engine. As a result, a vehicle may only need to have its oil changed after 30,000 or even 50,000 km. Of course, the high-quality Longlife III engine oils also represent added value for vehicles without a Longlife service, as they also protect your vehicle better against corrosion and wear thanks to the improved formula and the high-quality ingredients. For them, too, this leads to an extended service life of their engine and surrounding parts.
The best way to buy Audi engine oil is to select your vehicle on the store. This reduces the selection to only suitable products for your car. In addition to the manufacturer's approval, the SAE class is also important. This value indicates the flow properties at different temperatures. For example, the SAE class can be 5W30 and means that the engine oil remains fluid in the temperature range from -30°C to +30°C and reliably supplies the engine with oil. You will find the SAE class specification on the oil filler neck. There should be an oil change slip attached to the filler neck with the details of the engine oil currently being filled in. Otherwise, this value should also be in the service booklet. You will also find the required amount of Audi engine oil in the service booklet.
With the info on the Audi oil release, the SAE class and the amount of Audi oil it is easy to buy the right Audi engine oil. Rarely, however, only the oil is changed during an oil change. Generally, the oil filter and sometimes the drain plug is also changed directly. Our experienced product managers have already compiled suitable Audi oil change sets for this purpose, which are individually adapted to each vehicle. They contain the required amount of original Audi engine oil for the respective vehicle as well as various combinations of additional items. All you need to do is select the set that contains the products you need, and with one click you have everything you need for the oil change. It couldn't be simpler. If you are unsure which genuine Audi engine oil to buy and which oil change kit you need, feel free to contact our customer service.
