All parts for your exhaust system - from manifold to rear silencer

Exhaust systems of vehicles consist meanwhile of innumerable components, which ensure that the exhaust gases become less and less harmful for the environment. Due to the quantity of components it is not surprising that individual car parts must be changed again and again. Therefore you will find here in our categories a comprehensive assortment of original spare parts for almost every vehicle. The area is subdivided into the respective sub-groups to make navigation easier for you. In addition, we will introduce you to the structure and function of a modern exhaust system at the bottom of the page.

What belongs to a modern exhaust system?

From the outside, the exhaust system of the car can only be seen from the tailpipe. The component consists of several individual components and extends from the manifold to the rear silencer over the entire length of the vehicle. Every part of the exhaust fulfils an important task and is of great importance for the proper functioning of the system. In addition to discharging the exhaust gases produced during fuel combustion, the exhaust is also responsible for exhaust gas purification. For example, the catalytic converter neutralizes pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons. The exhaust system is also important for noise protection. For example, several silencers keep the noise generated by the explosive combustion within limits.

Various factors lead to increased wear in exhaust systems. Corrosion, defective weld seams or broken seals are the most frequent consequences. They impair the function of the exhaust and can limit the driving ability of the car. Here you can find out what signs you should watch out for and when an exhaust repair is necessary.

Original exhaust system: repair defective parts with original parts

For gasoline and diesel vehicles, the original exhaust system is matched to the engine down to the last detail. From the EGR valve through the intake manifold to the tailpipe, all components are designed for optimum performance. At the same time, they keep fuel consumption low and ensure clean exhaust gases. This interaction only works if all the individual parts of the exhaust system work perfectly. These include from the direction of the engine to the rear:

Depending on the vehicle, a turbocharger can also be part of the exhaust system.

Even small defects in individual components can result in a drop in performance or increased fuel consumption. At the latest then an exhaust repair is urgently necessary. With original spare parts from the vehicle manufacturer you can be sure to get only the best quality for your original exhaust system. At myparto.com you can buy cheap and safe parts and mounting material.

Detect and remedy defects in the exhaust system

  1. EGR valve

Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) reduces the temperature of the exhaust gases and thus also the emission of harmful nitrogen oxides. Due to coking or wear, the EGR valve can no longer function correctly. This can result in an increase in pollutants in the exhaust gas, reduced performance, black smoke from the exhaust system and/or an error code in the error memory.

The defective EGR valve is replaced as part of an exhaust repair. Otherwise the vehicle will not pass the next exhaust emission test. Therefore, have the component replaced by a workshop or carry out the repair yourself.

  2. Exhaust suspension

The rubber suspension on the exhaust ages and becomes porous. Before it tears, the exhaust system falls onto the road and endangers other road users, you should replace the rubber with a durable original part. You can do the exhaust repair yourself in just a few simple steps. Hang up the old rubber of the exhaust system and the new one - and your car is ready to drive again.

  3. Piping and silencers

Exhaust gases together with moisture and salt cause corrosion. The result is rust, which in the long run can lead to holes in the pipes and silencers. A touchdown of the car can also damage the exhaust system. In addition to an increased noise level, these defects also entail the risk that exhaust fumes may enter the car unnoticed and endanger your health.

If you notice holes in the rear silencer, middle silencer or in the pipes, you should have an exhaust repair carried out promptly. Another type of damage is loose baffle plates in the muffler. They are often noticed by loud clattering. If not repaired, the loose plates pose a risk to the catalytic converter.

With the right parts and the necessary know-how, you can also repair your exhaust yourself. We recommend the use of tested original parts from the vehicle manufacturer, which you can buy from us for your exhaust. In our range you will find everything from pressure transducers to control boxes all important components for your vehicle.

  4. Catalyst

Uncommonly rattling noises, loss of power and flashing of the engine control light indicate a defect in the catalytic converter. The damage can be caused by unburned petrol, which ignites in the catalytic converter, or by wear and tear. A replacement is necessary in any case to restore the function of the exhaust system.

A defective catalytic converter is also an obstacle to the next exhaust emission test (AU). For this reason alone, an exhaust repair should be carried out beforehand. You don't have to buy a completely new exhaust pipe directly. A catalytic converter is sufficient, but it must fit to your original exhaust system.

An original component from the vehicle manufacturer is preferable to identical parts and cheap spare parts from the Far East. This gives you the assurance that the catalytic converter fits perfectly into your original exhaust system and that performance will not be compromised. Tip: Have the catalytic converter replaced after 80,000 to 100,000 kilometres at the latest. How to prevent problems with the exhaust system!

Buy original parts for repair and maintenance of your exhaust

A defect in the exhaust system can impair the driving behaviour of the car and possibly even lead to the withdrawal of its operating permit.
